Diagnostic help needed.

My connection has been frustrating the hell out of me recently, keeps getting all slow with massive latency.

Is it the line or are BT throttling me to nothing at 0130 and everyone is in bed!

I'm not really sure what the numbers mean.

Very odd - is it consistently like that all the time ?

What's the upload like ?

Other people in the house ?

As above is this wireless?
 
Im hooked in via a home plug but it was crazy slow on my iPad via wireless.

It happens randomly but it's always long periods of time. Even when I reboot the router its fine for about 90 seconds but then it goes back to that.

Right now as I post this I'm looking at 53ms 6.45mbps down and 0.36 mbps up.

It effects everyone. To the point where you can't browse or game.

It's a BT home hub 2. Where would I find the error stats?
 
Your physical connection to the exchange is good. Nice strong 8mbit with good SNR up and down. Several days uptime, although it may not count disconnections there.

I reckon it's just a BT wholesale issue with them trying to cram too many users onto cheap bandwidth. Could also be exchange congestion. Could also be your homeplugs I suppose.
 
Yeah, it's BT's fault, your routers adsl connection (and homeplugs) are great.
If you can get out of contract, do so. Check out your exchange on www.samknows.com and go with LLU or Cable if it's available. If not I recommend the Xilo Office packages for Market1 exchanges, totally worth the money if you need a decent connection in the evenings. They come with increased upload and priority.

Unfortunately it's not my house so I can't do much about it other than get my girlfriends parents to get on the blower to BT when it's bad.

I did recommend going LLU when they moved in but I wasn't living here then so I didn't push it. Unfortunately they are still under contract for 14 more months.
