As above really; I've just upgraded a friends old computer to XP pro (from 98)and I have a spare old Speedtouch 330 usb modem which I would like to use for net access.
The (Gateway) computer is 2000 vintage running a P3 500 chip and although a tad slow, will suffice for what she needs.

As the modem is adsl and the account is dial-up pay-as-you-go (I know, I know!!) is it possible and how?

Any advice greatly appreciated (except those in favour of binning the machine as that is what I advised) ;)

Forgot to say; when I built it at my place, it connected via my router and an old ethernet card to my broadband fine.

She hasn't got broadband I'm sorry to tell so it would seem that I'm wasting my time trying to use this modem; I'll put back the old PCI modem until she moves into the 21st century and gets Broadband.

Thanks anyway.
