Alrighty then,

What's the score with these jesters then?

I see offers for a K750i on the Flext35 contract, with a free Xbox360 and £70 cashback.

Only catch I can see atm is that it's an 18 month contract and you have to remember to claim your cashback! Also I think you have to take insurance out but (if you remember again) you can cancel that too.

So then, are there any other catches beyond what I've mentioned :p Are they actually soul-sucking vampires who haunt your nights from then on? Or do they just make their cash from people forgetting to do the above stuff?

Opinions/Advice welcome! Am spending about £30 a month on my contract at the moment and my K700i is knackered so need a new phone in any event and it's contract end time in a month or two.

I've heard that they aren't very good at all. But I can't remember any specific examples.

My advice would be to read the contract. Carefully. :p

I would say different to a degree.

All mobile retailers hope you forget to claim cashback.

You have to remember to send original coupon and bill etc.

However Dialaphone pay the cashback very timeously, you get a text saying paperwork recieved, and automatically credited to your bank.

(If this is changed in the last short while accept my apologies, or if I have just been lucky then sorry.)

Another example, I referred my brother (quoted my mobile number) and got £20 no bother again to my bank.

The only negative thing I do have to say they may call you at some point and try and get a second contract out you (12 mnths free via cashback)

May suit some people that could do with a handset but what was sent was a 14 day return handset, but I guess you can say no and that apart if the deal is for you then good luck.

Aye that's what I figured, would have the return option anyway and would go over the contract properly before signing up to it, I figure they must make a packet out of the insurance referral and people not doing cashback etc.

Don't have a problem with the 18 month contract etc as I'd be keeping the phone for at least that long and the tariff sounds pretty good :)

T'internet reveals that customer service isn't great, a lot to do with the free line rental cashback etc but that wouldn't be an issue as the tariff is a bargain IMO anyway so anything back would be a bonus. Also the standard stuff about reading the small print etc.

Hmmm am getting convinced.....perhaps will have to await my thread in a few months saying 'Argh' or hopefully 'Wahey' :p
