Diamondback 3G mouse problems..

Hi, i've just purchased a razer diamondback 3G from OcUK and when trying to assign the scroll wheel click to throwing a grenade on cod4 it doesn't register that i have pressed anything at all.
All the drivers are upto date so i can't think of it being anything but faulty hardware.
Any ideas? Help is much appreciated.

Well click the wheel button in your browser, if you get the scroll thing then there's nothing wrong with your mouse

i've tried that, nothing happens. Guess i will need to return it then...
