Have been playing WoW for just under a year & other than the odd issue, connection has been fine.

Over the past week end I seem to get disconnected from the game every 20 mins or so.

Have checked the WoW forums but cant seem to find anything new listed.

Only things I have running at the same time as WoW is NOD32 & Skype, both of which I have had for some time & have caused no problems at all in the past.

Its just the past week end where I seem to have had this problem. Another WoW player who lives faily close to me (about 1 mile) has not had any problems at all.

Odd thing though connection to the Internet stays connected (as I some times have Thottbot running in the background, but this has always been the case), its just a problem with WoW

Thoughts, comments, suggestions welcome.

Thanks in advance

What ISP are you using?

Some ISPs occasionally have problems. Some guild mates were having issues on Virgin Media the other week.

If you're using Nildram they've had a constant problem for well over a year now that will probably never be fixed.

I had a simaler issue about 6-7 months ago, i solved it by uninstalling wow, reboot, re-install wow. Make sure you take the updates from the main wow folder and palce them else where or you have to download EVERYTHING again...

Then it worked fine..

OR...

Have a look at your addon's, maybe one of them is causing issues, use to be one called Archaeologist or something like it that caused a few issues awhile ago. Might be worth looking into.

It's a very common problem at the moment especially on NTL/VM. The WoW-Europe technical support forum and CableForum has more information on the issue(s). Seems that some BT customers have it too.

Then again I've read that Nod32 does have some problems with games apparently so you might want to try disabling imon or putting WoW in the exclusion list.

what nic card/connection and router are you using?

We had real fun with WOW and our Linksys router at one point due to a firmware level driver problem - the wow servers simply did not like the way the router was sending the data, an update to a particular version of the router's firmware (that used a different broadcom driver for it's wan port) worked.

I've also had real fun with Marvel Yukon based NIC's and Ultima Online.

In both cases the internet connection was fine, things like msn, browsing, email etc continued to work fine, but the games would simply stop responding. In UO's case I could access my pack etc, in WOW's case younger brother could run round the area he was in but not interact with anything.
