Did anyone buy VF5?

Am at the half way mark as to whether I will get a PS3 when I get paid next week but VF5 is one of the games that really makes me want it. I'm aware its coming to 360 but thats not for months.

So far of the threads i've read I have not seen anyone mention it. Did anyone pick this up? Whats it like? How does it play?
 
I picked up my ps3 this morning and got VF5 along with RFOM & Motorstorm. Not really much else worth buying tbh. Not tried VF yet, it has been getting decent reviews, will post back once i've tried it.

Don't see the point in waiting for the 360 version, neither have online play.
 
No online play :( and read a review gets a bit borning in 1 player.

So i went and got final Fight 3, Am also a huge Boxing game Fan but i hear this one is very good :p
 
It is gorgeous, and silky smoothe.

The 360 version isn't coming with online play neither, iirc Sega are refusing to do it online because they feel the fight system is too acurate.

The single player is a bit shallow, but you fight to unlock a whole load of content, work your way through tournaments and around local arcades. There isn't a story as such, just cirtual arcades.

TBH if you enjoyed this type of game back when it was tekken etc on the PS playing through youself or with a few mates round then you will enjoy it. If you are a bit 50/50 on this type of game, you may find it too shallow for you. See if you find Tekken 5 on the store worthwhile? for 7 quid it is a bargain. VF5 is the better game, but worth an extra 43 quid? i don't think so.

No way, not with a d-pad that just plain old doesn't work on the 360.

This is the type of game the PS pad is good with, its nice accurate and responsive all round. PS3 pad is undoubtibly the best for fighters and platformers. Shooters and racers i would give to the 360's pad, racers are great with that pad.
 
Sega Saturn pad >>> PS3 pad for fighters. VF5 is better played with the joystick than a DPad as it's a lot slower than SFA2 etc.

Ohh yeah i have heard the saturn pad is the best for fighters. But if its a PS3 or Xbox 360 pad on the fighter, there isn't a contest :p

The PS3 does have the edge except in 3D fighters though IMO :)

Got this yesterday, always wanted a Virtua Fighter! This hasnt disappointed!

Very nice fighting system that is really rewarding!

Yeah I've always loved the VF games - I had 1 and 2 on the Saturn, 3 on the DC, 4 and 4 Evo on the PS2 and now VF5 on PS3 and I love it. Definitely a recommended purchase.
 
I was wondering about getting this or F1, only thing if i got this i would need another pad and use it multiplayer. Ive read the reviews but still a bit unsure is the single player good enough by itself to warrant a purchase?
I was always more of a tekken fan to be honest, wish there was demo somewhere!
 
Personally mate i would buy F1 and Tekken 5 from the PS store and you will have 2 games, pretty much the same amount of fun with tekken, and have saved yourself 3 quid, which will come in handy when MK2 comes out in the next couple of weeks :D
 
A bit OT.

But King of Fighters will always be my fave Fighting game, and I'd love a nice looking 3d Next gen version. Not a more technical fighting game out there..And I love it. :p

On topic, I've not played this yet. But it looks fantastic.

Got tekken 5 cool game good fun finished the arcade mode with a few characters! I think im gonna have to get a second controller anyway. I do like the F1 demo (even if a do try and take out schummacher all the time, even if im racing as him :D ha ha) Drving in the rain is a bit of a mare though!
