Been away for the weekend and was going past OcUK (didn't realise it was just off M6). I have never been there before but anyway I was hoping to drop in to purchase a few things. I spent 45minutes driving round asking for directions and everything and I still couldn't find it. So in the end I was getting so frustrated I just turned back home!!

Has anyone else had trouble finding it?!

My sat-nav has a 'geek' button and traces a route there automatically? :D

Just out of interest Mishima, why did you go there? Cut down on postage costs or have a look at Gibbo's mustang? :D

Well I was passing you see so I could have saved postage costs (probably spent as much in fuel lol), so as I knew I was coming up M6 I thought I would pop in and get my CPU cooler and case. Got so wound up, I was going round the city center and just generally being a wally so annoyed I just looked on the AA at a route planner and it was simple. :(

I once spent nearly an hour driving around Manchester city centre looking for a hotel that was hosting a sound and vision show and it got me so mad I bought a sat-nav the same day

First time I went there, I did the drive around aimlessly lost, looking for it. But found it in the end, and now I could get there with my eyes closed :)

They do provide you with links to Multimap which you can zoom in and out of. I've never been personally as it is a bit of a trek for me, especially without a car but surely the map is enough of a help. :)

Yeah thats what I went off, just drew it out and wrote where I needed to come off motorway etc.

Got a birthday coming up so if anyones feeling generous a sat nav would come in handy haha! Seriously though I think I might invest in one. I thought it would have been simple but it wasn't I must have only been round the corner cause I was driving up and down King Street.

Anyone wana spec me a sat nav?!

I even printed the multimap out, and generally im a pretty good navigator..

But somehow I was expecting a roundabout or a right turn, and managed to totally miss it. Drove right underneath that big blue bridge, and straight on :P

Because I didnt realise the mistake, I ended up all over the place. But overall, its not hard to find if you dont make silly mistakes like I did :)

I think it is hard to find. Firstly, the 'industrial estate' is quite well disguised. And then you have to make your way down the tunnel. I only found it because I went down to look at a Chevrolet Corvette that was parked down there. Now I know where it is, I can find it from either M6 exit, but the first time was hard work.

I kept making wrong turns too I'm sure, cause I stopped at various places asking for directions and when I followed their directions they didn't match to the actual road. I think it helps when you have someone else with you in the car cause you have to concentrate were you are going and stuff, I couldn't have proper looks when I was going down the roads cause there were always people right up the back of me!!

Is it anywhere near the instrutrial estate with McDonalds, Matalan etc on it? cause I saw that a few times!

Basic tom tom for ease of use, Or if you want to save money and have a series 60/Symbian phone, get a bluetooth GPS module of the bay and then use your phone and that software I linked to.

Tom tom is easiest though.

I don't really want to get a PDA/palmtop etc so yeah TomTom would be ideal except they are still quite expensive, if you don't mind me asking how much was yours Melbourne?

Nope. The easiest way to find it is to come off Jct 15 and follow the signs for the A50 (Derby). Once you pass the Stoke City ground on your right you will be going up a long, moderate hill. At the crest of the hill is a roundabout. Straight ahead takes you down a slipway onto the A50. Turn left at the roundabout, down the hill. After only a few hundred yards there is a turning on the right, signposted 'Business Park'. Turn up there, up the hill. After a couple of hundred yards turn left and drive straight down the end into the 'Business Park'. Park up and walk into the tunnel. OcUK is in there. A fairly anonymous metal door, just like all the other metal doors. Considering the web-footprint and the high-profile image of the company, the shop could be seen as a bit of a let-down as it's basically a cash-sales counter for the warehouse.

Nice one, thanks for that. That TomTom One seems the one to go for. Do you take the holder out of your car when you park it?

I know that Sat nav's are reportedly one of the commonst things stolen from cars today - saw a program the other week that thieves will even break in if they see the holder etc..

Good practise though, to be honest I'm fed up having to always take out my bluetooth, phone, and cd player whenever I get out of the car at say a petrol station or something. Often I'll leave in the cd player at a petrol station cause I'll only be quick but you can't trust anyone thesedays!!
