Did anyone get a strange DNS crash recently?

Hi all, a little bit puzzled by an issue I had this morning when my DNS stopped working (was originally set to BT's automatic servers), it was fixed by changing to OpenDNS settings and now everything works fine - I used them before but changed back to BT when I started to get very high pings.

Anyone can comment on why the DNS would suddenly just stop working with no settings at all being changed? I downloaded the new Firefox last night but deleting it didn't fix the problem.

Could just be BT's DNS servers having some issues, generally ISPs DNS servers aren't all that great anyway.

Pings have nothing to do with DNS.

Regarding why it stopped working, remember things often work before breaking
