Basically wàs playing Mafia 2 on all high settings with forced aa using nvida inspector. Played for about 15mins then all of a sudden my PC just switched off. No blowing up sound nothing like that but just switched off. Now it wont switch on again :(

Although my external hdd lights up when plugged in to USB port then switches off after 15seconds.

My specs:
i5 2500k
Foxconn h67 it's
4gb ddr3
Windows 7 64bit
Silverstone sugo sg05 with supplied 450watt psu
Gtx 465 unlocked to gtx 470 and overclocked to 815core and 920memory

I had my gpu fan on 100percent and I am quite sure my overclock was stable.

Anyways did my psu blow up? Or is eyerything basically ruined? Wat should I do? Please advise. Using my phone to post so pardon any spelling mistakes

Remove the psu and link pins 13 & 14 (black and green cable) together with a fan attached to the molex, turn on the mains and the psu should start and the fan connected to the molex should come on.

Try resetting the CMOS and removing the gpu and use onboard graphics.

I did not understand your first sentence so all I did was use the cmos jumper switch and I also took out the battery and put it back....still not switching on :`(

Your GPU and PSU must have been burning hot in that small case with a high overclock on top...

Thanks for the video. Only problem is my case fan cable has 3 holes and all my cables from the psu also have holes not pins :s

Did you ever test your GPU temps at that overclock using MSI afterburner?

A GTX 470 at 800 Mhz generates a lot of heat.

As far as I know temperatures were fine. Even after it switched offoff I touched the back of the gpu and it wasn't too hot.

Most likely my psu has blown hasn't it? How can j test that it dint take down everything else with it?

You would have to try a new PSU, I cant think of any other way to test in this case.

Oh, you were using a PSU that came with the case!

Derp, its dead :p

Its a silverstone psu and I read a review that says it was top quality psu and at one time it output 550w!

Anyways I guess its dead. Can I claim warranty on it? Or since it's my fault my loss?

If I can't get another one from silverstone can someone please reccomed a powerful psu that will fit in my case?

Yeah thanks anuraj for the video link but I can't connect my case fan to the psu...

And I used a psu calculator it said 420something Watts should be enough. I guess the overclocking was too much for psu.

Anyways can someone please advise about warranty or should I not bother? What replacement psu should I get?

If its the PSU that broke, and that PSU came with your case, you would have to RMA the whole case + PSU for a new lot :x

You should try emailing Silverstone to see if they will RMA just the PSU, but the retailer you bought it from will only be able to RMA both the case + PSU.

But will they find out I did something as stupid as overclocking my gtx470 and refuse to rma it?

It is only a few weeks old...

No lol. Overclocking your components doesnt invalidate the warranty for other stuff, and if your that bothered, you dont tell them you overclocked!

Why do people find it necessary to mention that they overclocked stuff when they need an RMA? You just tell them its broke, they take it back, test it, and give you a new one.
