Just sold my X6800 for 526 smackers, did I do the right thing ?, is that a good price I got ? I sold it ready to purchase the Quad Core Extreme but I'm having secound doubts now as to wether it's going to be worth it, what shall I do now ?, wait until quad core extreme and put in the extra couple of hundred pounds or so, or get a really cheap dual core the like 6300 to tie me other until the standerd (non-extreme) quads comes out, AAARRRGGGHHHHHH I'm so confused, I'm half temped to give the guy his money back and tell him the deal off,

The thiing that's got me all confused is all the talk of late that quad core is not really much use, is that true ?, I do a lot of mutli-tasking ascross 4 screens.

Well thanks for your replies, I'm on the way to the post office now to send the cpu off, tbh thinking about it I should have kepted the x6800 but this guy has sent me a few emails and seems very excited about it so I'd feel bad refunding his money, anyway I have a secoundry 3.4 prescott with a 7600gt, that will tied me over for now,

I could'nt even push the X6800 I had even past 3.2 which was a bit dissapointing watching all you guys have fun clocking your 6300/6600's upto the same as mine (and higher in some cases), costing only a fraction of the price.

Not sure sure myself, although...................., when I first built the machine I was messing around in the bios and (don't ask me how) I accidently saved the bios with the maximum multiplier enabled, granted when my machine tried to boot it throw a fit, bios alarm going off like a siren, I could even hear the heatsink compound sizzaling, when I lent down to check how hot the heatsink was I could feel the heat on my face a foot away, felt just like a bar heater :D ,

ever since that day I was never really sure if i'd slightly damaged the cpu or impaired it's overclocking ability.

A foot away? Wow sizzling, lol, now own up did you tell your buyer about that?

tbh no I did'nt, but, from what he had told me via email i'm pretty sure he was'nt going to overclock the cpu, end of the day the cpu work's fine at stock volts and he did'nt ask about it's clockablitiy.

Think i'm going to get an oem 6300 and have some overclocking fun until the quads are out :D
