Did I get lucky ?

You did not get lucky no.

All 3690, 3930 I have ever seen/owned can do 2400mhz quad channel easy especially on RIVE.

Yes on that board there is other voltages you need to set as auto is not great in two areas. VTT and VCCSA. Auto will set these at 1.25+ which is too high and may lead to a chip degrading over time.

Set these two to between 1.10 and 1.15. With a regular LLC and 120% current cap on VCCSA.

You may also need to set clock gen filter to 20uf too.

They are expensive too for what your getting, XMP for 2400mhz at 9-11-11-31 are you gonna tune them properly???

I am sure they are very good sticks of RAM with great potential but at if your not benching or tuning I think they are expensive as others will do the same at less cost.

Thanks for the prompt reply I have put all the settings in and everything seems to be good.

As to tunning them properly I do not know much about memory but I will give it a go in the near future. Any help when I try it would be much appreciated.

I do not know how far this memory will go but I saw a review somewhere that had some rated at 1866mhz oced to 2400mhz.

I think overclockers just got lucky with that £240

Not as lucky as they could have been. I was going to give the 2666mhz kit a go but after reading about problems with the IMC and those sort of speeds I gave it a miss.

Most 3930K or 3960X can only dream of 2666mhz so you made the correct decision.

You running 1T command rate. This and 25 TRAS are your first tuning options!!!

These will make more sense to you than me

Now try enabling Rampage tweak mode 2 this will tighten up your other seconds and thirds. You may have to manually set TWTR to 5 and TRTP to 5 to get it to boot. Try 4 first.
