did i get the wrong cpu / stepping

been a bit bored today, for some reason i decided to run the intel cpuid thingy, and it tells me i have a q6600 with stepping B

odd i thought, i seem to remember something about G or slackware....

so i dug through and got the order number, then the order, then the cpu,and it says


- Quad Core Technology
- SLACR Stepping, 95W


So, whats going on?

does it make a difference?

is it the same thing?

I dont know anything about its claimed 3.3ghz overclocking as i have never done that, i wanted 150% reliabilty so my purchase theory was buy one that says it can do more, but dont try, its for an htpc, i *never* want a crash or it may fail to record something important

Double check with CPU-Z and if possible take a screen shot.

G0 is the new good one.

B3 is older and runs hotter.

SLACR is G0.

If CPU-Z says B3 when your order says G0, then ask for a new one.

confusing as intel thing says its a B, this says a B and a G0 !

is it the same thing?

yours is correct it is the G0 revision not the b3

nothing to worry about.
