Did i hear correct OCZ VERTEX V2?

Speculation is a bit useless when it comes to SSD's, need to see them properly reviewed to know if they are actually any good.

I agree. Too much emphasis is placed on synthetic benchmarks. There's a very good article on the Anandtech website here which tests the current series of Vertx drives and relies on a more 'real world' type of benchmark. It's a very good read and was only written a week ago so it's very up to date. :)

It is almost epic in length but extremely well written and very informative!

Yeah isn't it just! But worth getting your head around. It was what made my mind up about the Vertex series... I'm actually considering getting another 30Gb one to add to my boot RAID 0 array as I reckon that should give plenty of room for Apps etc (currently have 2 and they are about half full), then maybe another 1Tb Sammie F1 to run a RAID 1 data array! :)

shouldnt they have developed a faster sata than 3.0, becauase at the speed SSD's are being released and getting better they are probs gonna hit the max for that soon too...

when is it due out though?

No idea i asked the same, im proper confused i wanna buy a new system but dont wanna pay out like £2k to find they release Sata3 and usb3. Gonna google it now and check.

sata3 will be out within the next few months, think AM3 will be first to have sata3 boards. usb3 will be out at the end of 2009 or beginning of 2010. You could always just buy a pci-e card with usb3 ports on for £15 or summut when usb3 launches if you want to upgrade your pc's before then.

Is this true OCZ will be releasing V2 of the Vertex which is meant to be quicker then the already fast 120GB Models?

will it also be any cheaper? Cos what's the point of releasing one of the fastest drives that people have seen if no one can afford them? Even now they're quite steep for a 30GB drive (£120 if i remember right).
