Hi, bought one of the samsung RF511 on the clearance section yesterday paid £259 for i5, 8gb ram, 1tb hdd, its seems nice enough but......

it doesnt fit into my camera bag which has laptop compartment.
i bought laptop so i can carry around with me and do a bit of photo editing.
far far to much bloatware!! but i suppose i can get rid of some of that.

not the nicest to type on, keep hitting the track pad and mouse goes over screen, even when i try to be extra careful.

would have liked back lit keys!
screen is a bit hit n miss on angles, and res is only 1366x768

now i know its a bargain so cant really complain but i feel like i could just put some extra towards and get something like the dell xps 14 of the outlet.

would i see major benifits going to xps14 or am i being too picky

The extra floor space on the screen (900p) will be of more benefit for photography work, as well as a smaller overall chassis.

The Samsung RF511 is good enough for photo work if hooked up-to a 1080p monitor, however the XPS 14 is way easier to transport about.

You could still keep the Samsung and use it as a base station for storage.

i understand what your saying there but i have a dedicated photoshop pc at home which has 2 dell 24" monitors and 4tb inside.

but i plan on getting out a lot more and traveling so having a more portable laptop makes sense.

i did doubt myself once i pressed the "paynow" button! thinking i had 15" laptop before hmm maybe it will be ok, but after playing with it for most of the evening im having those doubts again.
