I'd would have got either a Seasonic, Tagan, Enermax or Antec, but not a Hiper - there seem to have been some quality issues and they are loud.

Mine is the only thing in my PC (that makes noise) that I cannot hear and it runs my opty 144 @ 2.8ghz and x1900xt @ 670/780 no problemo. Hiper 580w that is.

Apparently their QC has dropped a bit in the last batch. TBH, I have 3 hipers and all are of top quality, probably just a dodgy batch.

The XT-X is good but it's only a tiny speed bump on the XT which is not worth the extra in my opinion.

I've probably seen some from bad batches. One blew up and filled the room with smoke, another clicked a lot, and another is still running, but in an otherwise silent system you can hear the 80mm fan on the Hiper whirring.

EH? I have a hiper Type R 580W modular and it has been nothing but excellent.

It is near enough silent as well.

Although just seen your last post and you maybe right on the bad batch front.

Got mine a while ago now.
