I have received my GPU gigabyte GTX460. The box looked like had been opened before. I have opened the box and static foil hadn't been sealed,
The card has got as well a few scratches on the plastic fan's panel.
But the biggest problem is that its sticky on the other side (blue side) and looks like somebody spilled something on it or was already fixed (marks after soldering iron?looks like the power connector has been re-soldered and the board has flux residue? ). GPU has got as well label with FQC (dont know what exactly does mean).
have you seen this kind of GPU,s before?
Card is working fine, p played crysis 2, modern warfare 2, bioshock, dead space and seems to be fine. max 60 degrees, idle 36-40
Here i have some photos

My brand new ATi 6950 had marks like that on the backside, even fingerprints in some places... I don't think it means they are used, maybe it's just manufacturing marks or where the card has been tested before packaging.

If there is nothing wrong with the operation of the card I'd say there's nothing to worry about.

If only you hadn't used Imageshack, I'd actually bother to look at the pictures. Imageshack is garbage, slow and ad-riddled. Use tinypic or something.

But as Bozy says, most "new" cards will have signs of "manhandling" these days.

When you unpacked. what was the condition of the security seal? if it was still very sticky its fine, if there wasnt any on the box its been used. Was the anti static bag sealed? every card i bought there was a security seal on the bag.

sorry for imageshack :(

its a bit of shame that i have received something like that, before i have never seen GPU with reflux. I'm thinking to send it back under DSR but gpu is working fine so far. There is no warranty that i will receive new one without any faults.
The card looks like failed FQC and was fixed (resoldered in a few places) and tested after or fixed by somebody else. I happy coz it is working but not sure that is unused, maybe was sent under warranty, fixed and sold to me again as a new?
Still got warranty 3 years but i paid for the new item and that one looks not really like a new.
Well dont know what to do :/

I would send it back. It could clearly be a mistake that you received a refurbed card.
You paid for a new card and that is what you should have received not a second hand one...
It may work now, but if it gives up in a few months/year then you don't need the hassle of RMA.

there was no security seal on the box, box looks like had been open, the antystatic bag was sealed but seal was twisted so was opened, the plastic with fans has got a few skraches.

If it was me: If it was a ~£100 card and it worked, I'd just keep it. If it was a £250+ card, I'd send it back.

:( so you are saying that the GPU was used before, well i hate situations like that one. Some people told me that probably failed final QC and was just repaired and tested again and its happend very often. Hmm i received the GPU last friday if i want to return i have to do this on Monday ( 7 working days ).

Not every manufacturer use seals on their boxes. Asus and MSI being ones I can think of off the top of my head. The seals on Sapphire cards can also become unstuck very easily in shipping to us, looking as though a box has been opened when it can't have been inside a sealed shipping box.
As has been said, you can get what looks like solder marks left from the manufacturing process (I'd guess it's leftover flux residue, but that really is a guess).
Without knowing any further details of the card you have purchased it is a little difficult to say. Contact the technical support of where you purchased it from. If it is from us they can be contacted quickly on 0871 200 5053 or through our webnote system.
/edit. In addition many manufacturers will test a number of cards from a batch which can mean that the card can appear used. /edit

Best Regards

Could have happened during manufacturing, however I wouldn't put it past retailers to sell on RMA'd items in the hope they won't notice.

Did you get that from here?

At any rate I would contact the company and tell them that you want a replacement, A new unopened card. Also tell them that you expect them to organise the shipping both ways and they should collect the old card from you when the courier delivers the new card. You should not be left out of pocket for a mistake like that (any good company will agree to do that for you)

no from different shop

The quastion is that my GPU was just fixed by Gigabyte Final Quality Control in the factory (has got label on it) or was fixed by the shop from where i bought it, i didn't c any fingerprinting on it just small scraches, soldering problem in 3 places and reflux on the bord.
I can send it back but it might be that there is whole batch like mine one
Always something :( grrrrrrr

Buying brand new I would accept the box having no seal or the seal to be broken but the Anti Static bag should have the seal completely intact.

Send the card back under DSR and purchase a new card from here.
