Did Nvidia ever fix HDMI/Displayport RGB issue?

I ask as i never had a problem as i have been on DVI-D and always assumed the fix in the drivers under Video-RGB applied to desktop and games but it seems it does not and i have not been able to find any updated info on this over a six month old thread here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18576199&page=2 which seems dead?

I am basically looking at buying a monitor and both use displayport for 4K or 240HZ modes and have no option for DVI. So am i going to find my resolution listed under TV or put into limited RGB? I can imagine the 4K Dell might not have many issues but the Foris is still 1080p which is the problem resolution. Did they fix DP then because there are people on here too using DP for the latest Ultrawides but i guess they escaped this bug as 3440x1440p would not be listed as a RGB limited tv resolution? Confused a bit here and worried about buying something with dp and greeen team.

If you select RGB in the drivers it becomes stuck under Display Port/HDMI so you have to remove the Forceware reboot reinstall then reboot again :rolleyes:

Since when and under what circumstances? I have never heard of it "sticking" and that is shocking i thought not having a permament option for RGB limited or full for HDMI ot DP was bad enough but it sticking!?

It seems only HDTV resolutions suffer from the wrong RGB setting like 1080/720p and normal pc resolutions will work fine if they are something like 120hz,75hz or 1440p. I wonder what will happen with 4K because surely that is classed as HDTV? How will Nvidia tell the difference between a 4K tv that has HDMI 2.0 or displayport over a pc monitor when both display 3840x2160p? So if you are on 4K or 1080p at 60hz you really need to be careful your resolution is not listed as HDTV for Nvidia otherwise your monitor is displaying grey when it is told by a game to display black.

AMD funny enough have the choice at driver level i am told.

It can become stuck with the only easy fix being a driver reinstall had it happen before, IIRC 3840x2160 currently is under PC resolutions with my 4K panel but not at it to check atm.

this only affects HDMI, not display port, so it won't affect 4k monitors
mine certainly runs at full by default

if you've never attached a device via HDMI then the key you need to change doesn't even exist in the registry
if it does you can change it yourself from a 0 to a 1, the key to search for is;

SetDefaultFullRGBRangeOnHDMI

or you can use the utility yashiro posted that does the same thing
