I decided to reseat my heatsink after giving my Pc a good clean inside, Holding it by the heatsink turned on the hot shower and gave it a blast with the shower head in between the fins of my TRU/Extreme and was gobsmacked at the speed of heat transfer2 secs and it was to hot to hold, shoved it under the cold tap and almost instantly it went cold,
I know its suppose to do that but i was impressed.
The missus was too, she gave me one long hard look

why would you do this?

surely a can of compressed air would clean the HS better than running under water

Misses - *hold HS, then nearly drops it*- It's freezing!
Davy - *turns on shower to max* not for long
Misses - *hold HS in running water and nearly drop it due to heat*
Davy - it gets better see *set shower to cold* Cool or what
Misses - *puts down HS on side of bath and give davy one long hard look before leaving room without another word*

The wife's given me a few of those looks over the last 10 years

have always used the shower with it on "power" mode a lot quicker and cheaper than compressed air and gets rid of the really stuck on dust that compressed air has issues with... then just leave the heatsink to fully dry and you are good to go

unless you can blow for england! this is very hard on the TRUE as its fins are so dense... you may well pass out doing it this way!

Why not Didnt have any compressed air,I put a small reducer onto the hoover to get all the crap out of the inside&Fans it worked a treat
