Right, recently migrated to adsl max (12/10/06) so as of today I am out of the 10 day trial, however.......

First 6 days after my regrade and migration (12/10/06 - 18/10/06) I experienced a rock stable line with the following line stats:

Code:
DSL Status: UP
DSL Modulation Mode: GDMT
DSL Path Mode: FAST
Downstream Rate: 4224 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 448 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 6 db
Upstream Margin: 19 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 57
Upstream Line Attenuation: 31
Downstream Transmit Power: 0
Upstream Transmit Power: 0

Something that I was not expecting as from what I have read the first days of your max service can be very up and down, at this point I was very happy with my line and speed.

However on the 6th day (18/08/06) I began to suffer from disconnects every 2 minutes with my sync rate varying from around 3700Kbps to 4500Kbps even though my down stream margin was ~ 4-6 according to my router. So I contacted my ISP and went through the whole routine of changing filters, master socket etc. which have made no difference what so ever. They then got intouch with BTw. BTw then performed some line tests which they state came back there was a problem with a device on my end, baring in mind that I have tested the line with just my router into my master socket and nothing changed.

So woke up this morning to find that my connection is stable again however BTw have enabled interleaving on my line (see below for current stats)

Code:
DSL Status: UP
DSL Modulation Mode: GDMT
DSL Path Mode: INTERLEAVED
Downstream Rate: 3776 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 448 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 6 db
Upstream Margin: 19 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 57
Upstream Line Attenuation: 31
Downstream Transmit Power: 0
Upstream Transmit Power: 0

From what I have read about interleaving it is used to stabilise lines, now my question is why did I have a rock solid line for 6 days at the start without interleaving when it is supposidly a problem on my end of the line, surely by enabling interleaving BTw hav essentially shown that there is a fault on the line but they are unwilling to return my line to its previous state.

Any one got any advice? as I find it highly insulting that BTw can say its a fault on my side then enable interleaving which solves the issue.

so no one got any advice? I have been speaking to my ISP and apparaently BTw havent logged that they have enabled interleaving on my line as part of the problem resolution.

They probably didn't do it. It's an automatic resolution to unstable lines by the monitoring equipment.

problem is up until 18/10/06 I had a perfectly stable line without it, then something changed, something out of my control.

It's either your equipment or a ridiculous amount of factors that are beyond anyone's control.

Neighbours all got ADSL, lots of crosstalk. Roadworks or other works started with heavy equipment generating lots of EM. Other plant machinery installed near phone lines, lots of noise. The point I'm trying to make is it could be absolutely anything.

In my opinion: The stats haven't changed, and your router started dropping even with a 6dB margin. This means that either there's an intermittent noise source (you'd need better monitoring equipment to see if there is, and if there is there's probably nothing you can do about it). This would explain why interleaving fixes it.

Or your router's modem is failing in some way. Get interleaving switched off and try a different one.
