We had a fuel leak that was traced to the injector seal leaking and causing a build up of gunk. The mechanic has taken them out cleaned up and replaced the seals, however he did send them off for testing and says they are out of tolerance but if you haven't had any issues then not to worry and don't bother replacing them. Does this sound like good or bad advice?

It's probably just a bit of leak back, normal with older injectors but at 50k I'm surprised they're out of tolerance, not good on a relatively new car!

The sealing issue is common to the 1.4, another quality Ford design :p

theres no way they are out of tolerance at 58000 miles, hes lying to make money out of you

I have an 07 plate fiesta 1.4 tdci its done 142,000 miles and the injectors are all original

like yours I bought it with leaking injector seals (the little copper washers) and I fixed it for a 10er

Ive had dozens and dozens of diesels all with over 100,000 miles and all on original injectors

honestly, the guy is lying to you

Thanks for the replies. Apparently (i've just found out) he claims there was smoke coming from the exhaust so he sent them off to test, they claim they are out of tolerance and he has chucked some cleaner through to see if it sorts it. It all seems very odd to me, I've never noticed any smoke but then maybe I've never looked :)
