Hi

I'm looking at buying a new jacket. I like the Diesel ones a lot and by chance had a look on Ebay.
There is one seller selling a jacket, he's located in China and i like the look of the jacket a lot.

The product is new and with tags. By looking at the sellers feedback it seems very good and the last piece of feedback was from a buyer that bought the exact same jacket and left positive feedback.
I dont want to be ripped off so i am asking for your help! Is the jacket real even though it is being sold at a low price ?

The auction item number is: 330080490791

What do you guys think ?

It's fake.

Buying designer stuff on ebay just isn't worth the hassle because the whole place is flooded with knock-offs.

The fact that the seller is based in China and is shipping to everywhere in the world is a big enough red flag as it is.

Then you have the fact that he has negative feedback from people saying that the items they recieved were fake and poor quality.

Having lots of the same item is another red flag.

The pictures on the website could have come from anywhere, so you are taking a chance on it being a good fake, or it could be a really bad one.

I'd steer clear and buy from a UK seller, and only then when you can be somewhat sure that its genuine.

It might not be Diesel, but there are plenty of other jackets like that around. I saw one in Urban Outffiters the other day very similar.

Designer gear (if you can call Diesel designer gear) is so expensive because it's rare, you don't see many people wearing the same thing, so someone selling multiples of any item is about the biggest red-flag you can get.

Not necessarily, it is well known that factories in China often overproduce beyond what the designers order and sell the excess on the black market at low cost. This doesn’t make the items any less genuine.

Thanks for your help guys.

After looking round on the internet i've some across G-Star brand clothing.
I like it a lot. I've found a powerseller on Ebay but once again could i have your opinions on whether the goods look real.
the prices are cheap and every auction the power seller has state that the clothing is 100% authentic but some of the feedback is a bit iffy, some sellers are saying that postage takes ages and some say that they have problems returning goods. Also, all the jackets ive looked at from the powerseller are new but without tags, should i walk away ?

The jacket im interested in: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/G-Star-Winter-Capter-Quilited-JKT-Black-Size-M_W0QQitemZ260079633243QQihZ016QQcategoryZ313QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Thanks again for your help guys!

You have to be realistic - I don't know how much G-Star clobber normally is, but if it's £100 and he is selling for £44, it's likely to be spurious.

Would also recommend against purchases from China - counterfeit land.

I currently have a bid on a fake Diesel top from Thailand

I assume it's fake, but it doesnt bother me- looks good anyway

I have the same top already in Orange (which i also got from a thailand seller)...

So much fake diesel stuff on ebay, most of it looks tacky as hell though

I prob wouldn't spend 50 quid on something that could be fake though...

the shirts are 12-15 quid, and reasonable for a fake

yeah you have to be really careful tbh.

brought some diesel jeans off ebay last week and they are spot on. generally i look out for the words "genuine" or "authentic" in the message content - in theory (but not always) if it was fake, the seller would deliberately leave that out to cover their ass.

i'd say the g-star coat looks genuine - the diesel one looks so also, but because it is from china it is a bit dubious! however, most clothes are made in factories in china anyway - so even that could be real.

The thing is though, the item in the pictures might actually look quite good, even if its a fake or some other garment with labels stuck on it. The trouble is that the item pictured may well not be what you actually get sent. Could you then really be bothered to pay shipping again to send it back to China or wherever? probably not.

Is this any help?

At least you know its real.

Thanks for your help guys.

I think i'll just keep away from Ebay. I cant be bothered with the hassle if the jacket is fake.
It is tempting though!

Anyone got any links to online shops that have good deals on designer jackets such as Diesel, G-Star etc.

Thanks

Ok, there are a couple of things you should know. Fake clothes are getting less abundant on ebay these days, although there is still a lot of Diesel on the. 95% on desginer clothes on ebay are fake, fact. BUT- firstly they are a lot cheaper than you would get in any shop, and secondly 99% of the fake you get you wont be able to tell the difference.

My advice.

1) Read the persons feedback, if its 99% and people say good things, they will be fakes that are IDENTICAL to the origionals.

2) Try and buy from a UK seller that offers refunds.

3) Always use paypal, esp when buying from Thailand or China.

4) If you get it and you dont like it (because its fake) tell the seller you will leave bad feedback and reprt him to ebay unless he give you a full refund plus the postage costs to return it.

I've lately noticed quite a few Adidas Y-3 trainers showing up on Ebay for cheap prices, we'll ranging from £30-£60 where generally in shops these trainers go for £160

Seen a pair and I'm very tempted as they seem too good to be fakes!! We'll, you never know these days.

Thanks for your advice.
To be honest with you the G-Star jackets ive found on Ebay look so nice and are cheap (around £60).
Part of me wants to buy it because of the design (if the actual item looks like the one in the auction) but then again i dont want to be stung if it looks shockingly awful.

I bought a pair of Diesel jeans off ebay for £40. Didnt really care too much if they were fake or not but I took them to HOF as I have a friend who works in the Diesel shop there, and he said they were 100% genuine. Not all stuff on ebay is fake!
