Diesel performance increase ??

My mates got a 306 1.9 D and is looking to give himself an increase in power. What simple ways could he get abit more performance from his engine as far as i know you cant "chip" diesels, but a cheap induction kit could help some what ? Would he see any gain going for a bigger exhaust? looking to do it on a cheap budget and must be legal . Any help welcome.

Is't the screw mod to do with the XUTD engine, and adjusts the amount of boost?

Can't do this on a non-turbo diesel.

No. It'll still be woefully slow.

It's money being spent on a dead engine.

If he wants more performance then he has to buy a car with a better engine.

Make certain that throttle cable is not stretched , adjust if necessary to ensure that 100% *** is achievable.

Apart from that, shield off radiator to get warm engine if it is struggling in the winter air.

[Ninja edit] Check for air bubbles in fuel line too, replace fuel filter and check seals

Goto google and search for the Dervdoctor. He is a Diesel tuning wizard. He is based in Ashborn.

He has got the 1.9DTurbo and thats now runing 200bhp + or you can the ecu remaped about £180 on Ebay my m8 has had this done on his 206 D Turbo added an extra 30Bhp and a hell of a lot more torux.

The 306 1.9D Turbo doesn't have an ECU does it?

Slight problem, the engine is a, not turbo b, does not have a mappable ecu

buy a 306 TD engine, screwmod done. not guna set the road on fire, but a nice healthy increase, for the price of a exhaust and filter on a **** engine. Failing that sell it and buy a new car!

i wouldnt bother tbh , but if i did i would go down line of buying xu9td engine (1.9td) and doing the screw mod you might see 100 - 110 bhp

Love all the people saying screw mod, its a 1.9D not TD....

Sell it and buy something better, you really have no option.
