Diesels Vs Petrol *DEBATE*

this wasnt a debate, it was a load of ****.
some of you need to grow up and realise (without people drumming it into your head) what benefits each fuel gives you.

BMW's NEW M3 Diesel!

* It may have been AutoCar

It wasnt actually a M3 deisel though, it was a deisel with performance close to an M3 I believe.

Personally i see it this way.

People who enjoy driving for pleasure tend to buy petrols

People who use there car as a tool/ method of getting A to B tend to buy deisels.

Whether the ST or the GHIA is the highest trim level is surely a matter of opinion - the GHIA has more comfort features, the ST has more sports features.

Why isn't there and M3/5 Diesel?

Becuase they are ultra high performance cars. We've already agreed diesel and high performance has no place. The M series cars are specialist cars and not part of the normal range. There is a diesel available in the highest specification of the normal range.

The only C class AMG is the C32 which is a 3.2 which is 3.2 V6 with 354 bhp.

a C30? There is no C30 CDI AMG.

Not been keeping up, have we? Mercedes have announced it, and I beleive it'll be available before the summer. You can order one now at your local MB dealer, and waiting lists are similar to that of the C32 AMG, so you'd get it about the same time.

This thread is a bit silly IMO.

Its like having an 'Arsenal vs Man U : who are the best' Thread.

Ie Pointless as there is no way anyone will change there views.

Exactly I say close it and stick it in the archive! :D

TBH i don't really care.

I enjoy driving Diesels but I enjoy driving Petrols more.

I love revving the hell out of a petrol engine, I love the sound they make, I love the smell of petrol and I love thrashing them.

Diesels make driving easy and thats it really.

Makes it less fun for me.
