Currently i'm still using a SB LIVE! from many, many years ago. I want to upgrade to one of the two, as I listen to a lot of MP3s and don't want to miss out on any great sound effects from the games I play.

What is the fundamental differences between the two? They're about the same kinda price range, but it's hard to guage the difference in the two cards from promo bullet points on web sites.

Any one used any of the two?

Cheers.

I've not used the two but I do have the Fata1ty. You can switch modes between gaming mode and entertainment which is very useful. Also with my card you have the breakout box for e.g. headphones etc.

The only difference between the two that I can see is that the Gamer one (which I never noticed before) is low profile. It doesn't appear to have X-RAM either, like the Fatality version.

Imho just stick with the Music card, which is what I have. Music is awesome and games are just as good with all the EAX settings, etc. :)
