difference between 17mm and 10mm ?

thinking about buying a 10-20 sigma (or 10-22 canon) lens and wondering how much the difference between that and 17mm of my 17-40 i have?

worth the money for extra 7mm ?

they are shot on a d50 though, not a canon.

Your Nikon will show both 17mm and 10mm slightly wider than a canon would as the Nikons have a 1.5x crop over the 1.6 from most Canons.

indeed, that is why i said it was shot on a nikon. them pics still show a 7mm difference though.

A 17mm lens on an APS-c isn't really very wide, a 10 whatever is.

That's arms length with a 10-20 @10mm f9 sigma on a 40D

this one is with a 17-85mm @ 17mm f19

(please excuse the sweaty pits, it was hot and humid! oh and look at this quck, as when the missus spots this it will prolbably come down...)
