Ok,

The 3.06GHz CPU was previously a BTO option on the Early 2008 iMac, is this the same CPU that's in the Early 2009 iMac?

In other words, are the 2.66GHz and 2.93GHz a different family of CPUs (and the 3.06GHz is there to clear stock), or does Intel do a 3.06GHz chip?

The minimal difference ~13MHz is confusing me...

I've got a 3.06ghz chip in my iMac, purchased last October. I can't remember when it was released though.

It's a Core 2 Extreme X9100 (so same CPU from both revisions). I believe it was first released with the previous revision of iMac's.

Edit - Looks like the 2.93Ghz shares the same bus speed (1066Mhz) and Cache (6MB L2)...

(assuming rounded numbers)

3.06GHz = 3060MHz
2.93GHz = 2930MHz

3060-
2930

130

So it's a 130MHz difference, not 13 MHz, you're a factor of 10 out, old fruit.

I know, that's why it confused me.. same bus speed and L2 cache :confused:

Oh well, decided not to buy a Mac just yet..

@Feek :p
