Difference between 790X and 790GX?

the 790gx has 2x PCIe 2.0 x16 Slots where as the 790x has 1 x16 and 1 x8 slots. worth paying a couple quid more for the GX imo as u have the option of full crossfire @ 2 16x.

The 790gx runs at 8x and 8x when in crossfire mode.Plus the 790gx has onboard ati 3300 gpu with 128mb of sideport memory.
The 790x is the same but is missing onboard graphics.

okay now I'm confused again, in the little description of the GX it says it runs at 8x 8x, same as what the X says, where as on the FX boards it actually states 16x 16x.

So is there a difference between X and GX boards when running Xfire or not? :confused:
 
Hmm found a review of the gigabyte GX board that confirms its x8 x8, doesn't really matter though as the gigabyte X chipset costs about 5 quid more than the asus board with the GX chipset, and seeing as the GX comes with the new AMD overdrive software and is 5 quid cheaper than a board with the same specs that doesn't I'll go with the asus GX
