Is there any difference between aftermarket gpu's ? Or are they just the same card with different coolers ? Do you guys decide your brand based on what your going to be using the card for or is it just aesthetics ? I know that some come pre overclocked and some fans are louder/bigger then others but is that all there is to it ?

Warranty is the main factor for me also.
The overclocks are always very mild anyway and easy to achieve with basically all the chips via Afterburner.

Coolers, out-of-the box overclocks, warranties and the cables/ accesories included are about the only difference.

Ones using reference design it is as you say. But they are not all reference design so may have different power systems etc. Some ranges use binned chips too, some manufacturers prefer certain GDDR manufacturers, different voltage limits etc etc.
