I have a 360 and brought a new moniter for my PC, and got a Samsung with TV tuner and component input. It's native res is 1440x900. Now what I don't understand is, if using a VGA can I get my 360 to output a moniter resolution not just 720p etc? If so does this also work with HDMI? As I will be getting a new Xbox to replace my 2 year old one that just RROD, and as the VGA cables were £20 I never bothered to get one and stuck with component as my moniter had the input. If I use HDMI will it be just the same as using component resolution wise or will there be more options? Thanks.

When I was using a vga cable on my 1440x900 19" ws I couldn't select the monitor's native resolution. You can't even get 16:10 out of an xbox afaik

Oh, because I thought with a VGA cable the moniter could be identified and then the 360 could output and image upscaled into it's native res.
