Lo chaps, gonna buy a new mobo tomoz, think I've settled on the Gigabyte P45 DS4.

Some quick questions, it looks to be exactly the same as the DS5 but with 4 less SATA ports? Is it really exact same cooling, components etc? I've scrimped before and paid the price, want to know exactly what I'm getting into this time.

In a few weeks I'll be looking to stick a 45nm (dual or quad) in there and OC to 4GHz. So I want a mobo that can definitely hit the required FSB with a e8500 or Q9550.

And lastly, any words of warning / suggestions of alternatives? I can go to £200 if it's really worth it for my needs (heavy OC, good stock cooling).

I can personally vouch for the DS5 for being a good stable and fast board that doesn't seem as fussy on ram as some other boards. I have my q9450 oc'd to 3.2 and once i got my head round overclocking it was so simple to get it to that. I got the DS5 because i needed the 10 sata ports and it was the only option but i have been very pleased with it so far.

Also so far i havn't seen any major issues with the board cropping up on any forum i find the tweaktown forums best for gigabyte boards as they have a dedicated gigabyte section. If you can afford it my recommendation is go for the DS5 you will not be disappointed.

That review is not for the board i have and is missing a few things mine has but then i noticed it is for the amd chipset so thats why :).
