Difference between EMEA and WW cd keys

Hey, so I'm obviously on the edge of my card to buy Doom Eternal and considering buying a key, but I keep finding two types: EMEA and WW.

I know what they mean (Europe Middle East & Asia and Worldwide) but what's the actual impact? If I buy an EMEA key (it's cheaper), can I just register it with an account in that region? Am I right in assuming that there's no gameplay difference? Thanks!

That's what I figured, just wondered if anyone can say for sure.

Being in the UK should be fine for an EMEA key though right?

I may just have to play it safe and grab it off Steam

I brought the EMEA version and it plays ok for me - UK here

It's just region locked - think of it like DVD region 1 / 2 etc.

the UK is in EMEA. I've bought the same key and it works
