Hi there members of the OC forum, i was wondering; can anyone tell me the difference between the 6600, 6600 GT, and the 6600 LE, and if possible, show me some benchmark scores for the range of 6600 series, and the x700 series, thanks (i cant seem to find benchmarks for the graphics cards anywhere...)

Hi I think the 6600le is the worst 6600, then the normal 6600 then a 6600gt, from what i've heard its only worth having a 6600gt as they're the best and give excellent performance, i hear they overclock well.

The 6600 and 6600GT have the core, but the GT has DDR3 memory that offers much more bandwidth than the standard one which uses standard DDR. There is also a DDR2 6600 available that not too bad.

The 6600LE is a bit of a mystery, some of them seem to only have 4 pipelines, some of them use different memory. I think they are somewhere between a 6200 and 6600, you'll see them in a lot of media centre PCs, as they run cool and have all the purevideo features of the GT, but at almost 6200 prices.

For gaming, dont consider anything less than a 256MB 6600GT.

Lanz, the 256mb GT is no faster than the 128mb. The GT only has a 128bit memory bus so isn't great at addressing more memory. A 128mb 6600GT like the one on this week only will be very good for 1024 and 1280 gaming at medium settings.

Not so good for future games and things like COD2 tho, where 256mb makes a difference.

atm, im running off of an FX5200  and im an avid World of Warcraft, and FPS games player; what card under 90 quid would you guys recommend? I basically just wanna try and get over 15 fps in non crowded zones in WoW

Hmm ;)
My Sparkle 512mb 6600LE (DDR2) runs at approx the same 3D Mark score as standard 6600. They're good cards, if a little limited by the 128 bit memory bus. (Still works very nicely in ultra modes of BF2 & Q4 though)
