I am looking to get a new motherboard. I am unsure however what the main differences between P43 and P45 motherboards are.

Are there any differences between the memory controllers etc or do the P45 just have more features, e.g. a couple more USB headers, Firewire etc?

Thanks.

2? :p

I believe P45 has ATI Crossfire support whereas P43 doesn't, I'm not sure if there are any other differences.

That seems to be about it, although the motherboard manufacturer may choose not to implement it on a particular mobo that they make.

Overclocking appears to be about the same for both, (>500MHz for dual cores) the P45 being only 5MHz higher in one review I read...

that's interesting as Anandtech claim that P43 fsb overclocking is supposed to be limited to ~400fsb on retail boards.

Yup P43 are deffo not limited to 400Mhz.

The only real difference is the lack of CF support.

Plus their mobo design is usually very 'no frills', with no Mosfet cooling, and very basic chipset cooling.
