So my motherboard died and the warrenty was voided.

Since my CPU is a 1366 its left me with only one option on the OCUK site and that is the Gigabyte X58A-OC Intel X58.

However my graphics card's interface is a PCI-e x16 2.0 and from what says the motherboard I'm looking at only has PCI-e slots (not 2.0)...

Will my graphics card work on a 2.0 slot or will it mean i'll have to look elsewhere for a x58 motherboard?

If you mean this mobo

Im pretty sure it is PCIe-2

Having said that if you are thinking of getting the above mobo have you thought about selling your i7 9xx CPU and buying this as a replacement plus a suitable mobo.

It will cost you a bit more but it is also more modern. As far as mobos go for a 2700k some of the guys on this forum know a lot more than me and can give better advice.

All X58 boards are PCI-E 2.0.

There's only a small percentage loss between 2.0 x16 and 1.0 x16 (which is the same as 2.0 x8).

As Kappstad suggested, maybe it's time to jump to Sandy/Ivybridge ;)?

I've already ordered it! I'm quite happy with what I have so far. If this mobo dies or whatever I'll probably end up getting a new one and selling the processor, vice versa! thanks for the help :)
