Having problems choosing a 970.

Ive been changing my mind between the following:

MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming Edition

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 G1 Gaming

Asus GeForce GTX 970 DirectCU II OC Strix

EVGA GeForce GTX 970 FTW ACX 2.0

As far as I understand it the EVGA is the fastest out the box and the Asus the quitest.

Im not really going to be overclocking the card, so I need the best out of the box experience.

I've read good and bad things about all the cards above. Surely when it comes to performance they are all within a few % of each other?

I've owned Wind Force cards in the past so was thinking to make decision easy and get another one, but I understand that the fans dont have the 0 idling thing on the Gigabyte card.

The Asus one looks sexy as it's the quietest, but the EVGA is the fastest from what I see.

You won't notice a difference in games between those and benchmarks will be a few points apart. Go with the Gigabyte and overclock it yourself. It will do 1450 on the core minimum.

The MSI is good but doesn't have a backplate.
The ASUS Strix has limited overclocking capabilities compared to the other cards.
The EVGA is a bit too expensive for what it is and isn't available for another week at least.
The Gigabyte has a backplate and due to its design and power target is one of the better overclockers usually.

Id go for the Gigabyte purely because it has the best cooler and UK based customer support for any warranty queries. Having dealt with Asus customer support recently I'm confident in saying that they are bunch of uncontactable cowboys and will not be getting another penny of my cash.

Dunno about MSI or EVGA though.

The titan cooled card is the most interesting. Ideal if case airflow isn't great and if you ever decide to go sli.

True that. Asus warranty is one of the worst IMO and most people I know.
