Difference between SSD and HDD for gaming

Evening guys,

In my gaming laptop I currently have a Samsung 840 pro SSD.

Obviously this drive is lightening but like any SSD I am limited with regards to storage capacity with the 256GB model.

I am tempted to sack the SSD and revert back to a premium HDD such as the WD black or similar. Main reason being is that I need a main drive with plenty of storage space as I have a large steam and itunes folder. I am finding I am having to cut and paste folders between my SSD and external drive all the time and this isn't always convenient.

In real world situations will I notice a massive difference when playing games? I don't mind sacrificing boot speeds for more space!

You may notice longer loading times depending on the game. Have you maybe considered replacing the optical disk drive (if the laptop has one) for a HDD cage for storage instead?

Hmm, I could do this.

I have the clevo chassis so how would I go about doing the conversion?
