difference between the Asus DSL AC88U vs Asus RT AC88U

difference between the Asus DSL AC88U vs Asus RT AC88U ??
whats the difference?, its got a different price but its still a Asus AC88U router, nothing on the Asus product page,

Its confusing as they are both Asus AC88U Routers, very popular but the 2 seem different models below, they also have different prices,
can anyone advise?

as i dont want to get the wrong one for my fibre internet,

Im currently using a ASUS PCE - AC68 Wireless PCI-E Network Card with the older Asus RT-AC87U router

Ive upgraded my internal WIFI adapter card to a ASUS PCE - AC88 Wireless PCI-E Network Card so any info appreciated.

thanks

2 different routers same name 2 different prices???:

ASUS DSL-AC88U AC3100 Wi-Fi Gigabit Modem…£209.99
ASUS RT-AC88U AC3100 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Gigabit…£268.96

The DSL one has a DSL modem built in, the other one doesn't.

oh i see

so I have a bt fibre service, it looks like i also have a separate bt open reach dls modem that is connected to my current router, so I suppose i need the ASUS RT-AC88U AC3100 right?

so If i got the ASUS DSL-AC88U AC3100 then this one has a built in modem right, so if i got this one then i wont need the bt open reach dsl modem, i would just use the solo dsl version, ? funnily enough the dsl modem version is cheaper when its suppose to be more expensive?

It seems like an eye-watering amount of cash to pay out for a home broadband router.

Do you need any of the features or are you just going on higher numbers = better than?

ive upgraded my wifi adapter to the Asus PCIE AC88

so im on the hunt for a router to upgrade my old RT AC87U

the routers im looking at look exactly the same, one with a built in modem and one without, funnily the one without the modem is more expensive

I want to use it with my BT fibre service and getting a router with high speeds with give me fast wifi in my home, just trying to figure out which one of the 2 asus routers im gonna get, its very cheap on a used version especially during the jumble, oh i mean jungle sales.
