Probably a stupid question but what is the difference between these cards and is the XTX good value for money or should i settle for the XT?

Thanks :\

Slightly faster core clock & memory speed, apparantly the XTX's use 1.1ns memory, the XT's use 1.2ns.

Some XT's apparantly cannot be clocked to the XTX speeds, but its probably not worth paying the extra premium of the XTX as you may well find an XT clocks to the same...

Goes by what monitor and res your running your games on...

Am running my games at 1920x1200 on 24" widescreen and paying the extra for the xt-x was well worth it..

I was gonna buy a 20" Widescreen (ViewSonic), with an "optimum" resolution of 1680 x 1050. So XTX or XT?

What's the difference in price between the xt & xt-x your looking at...

If it's only about £20 difference i say get the xt-x one..

I haven't kept up with the latest ATI prices.(when i brought my xt-x it was £50 more then the xt)

does it do over 820-830 on the ram though?

Stuck at 820 @ stock volts,no ramsinks on yet ,so don't want to up the volts yet,not really expecting much more, but you never know

Have you not tried bumping the volts up a bit? The XT-X's are cherry picked cores, so they're going to get higher clocks at the same volts as the XT's really.

The XT and XTX cores seem to be pretty similar. The biggest difference I've seen is in the memory - my XTX can hit 873mhz with a slight voltage bump.

you know ya talking to me dont ya ;)

volts is my middle name

hold on if the ram is rated to 1.2ns then that works out to be 833mhz (1666mhz ddr). does this mean that its a guaranteed overclock on the ram to hit 1.6ghz on these 1.2ns cards?
