Difference in 290 blocks

I have two, maybe 3, reference 290 cards that I want to put under water.

I already have an Acetal CPU block however I had plexi blocks on my 7990s and liked the ability to watch the fluid flow.

From what I can see the 290 Acetal block covers the entire card but the Plexi block leaves a section at the end of the card bare.

Any reason for this?

It's just an aesthetic thing. Some people like the entire card to be covered up.
