Difference in Intel processors

Hi,

Is there much difference between different types of Intel processors?

The reason I ask is I bought a second hand processor on saturday to fit my socket 478 board. I originally had a P4 2.66GHz processor 533FSB, no HT or anything. But the chip I bought is a P4 3.2GHz processor 533FSB with HT, the only issue is that I didn't know until I put it in my board (It doesn't specify on the label) but it is a Mobile version of the P4 processor.

When I go into the system properties I see the following...clicky.

But when I had the 2.66GHz chip in it displayed 'Intel 2.66GHz' then underneath '2.66GHz' in the system properties.

So is the Mobile chip going to be slower than the 2.66GHz chip?

As you can see in link 2 it clearly says it has HT support.

Thought there wasn't something quite right when I put it in.

Right I'll take it back then, they'd better give me a refund because it didn't specify it was a Mobile processor on the label. I probably wouldn't have bought it if it had.
