Regarding a gaming machine , is there a massive performance difference between LAN pcs and your more traditional desktop pcs ? Noticed that the parvum builds are getting really popular and there tiny , is it mini atx ? What's the difference in price/perfomance ? I know you can't go like 3 way sli with the smaller system , but if both specs had the same gpu ? I really like the look of the smaller rigs :)

The difference in performance is in the spec, not its form factor, the spec may be chosen due to the form factor though. But there's no blanket statement to be made.

The difference on price/performance again, all down the specification you choose.

If the CPU + GPU are kept the same (along with similar cooling) both systems will perform the same. The only downsides of MATX is the generally smaller selection of motherboards and no tri/quad sli/cfx, as well as the fact most of the boards and cases don't have the 1 slot gap option between cards like on ATX boards.

Mini ITX have come in leaps and bounds and in the past few years, performance should be the same.

The only downside is the expansion, i.e. adding a extra GPU or sound card.

You could solve the sound card problem by getting msi gaming z87 mitx board, expensive though. I hear they have excellent onboard sound.
