Difference to response depending on the ear you listened with?

I've tried googling this many different ways and it all come up with gobbledygook.

If you are on the phone for example, does the side of the brain used for responding change depending on what ear you hold the phone to, thus changing the type of response you will give?

I can't really seem to find any research or answers on this, I was wondering if anyone here has come across anything like this?
