Difference worth it between X1800XT & 8800

YES! My GTS chews FEAR up and **** it out in bits. I'm talking EVERYTHING maxed out or turned on (soft shadows included). Played SupCom just now maxed out and you could almost hear the card laughing at the pitiful effort from SupCom trying to bring it under 80FPS.

I don't know why I hesitated so long. Do it!!
 
Ive got a thermaltake soprano and i just upgraded from X1800XT 512mb to a Inno3d 8800GTS 320mb and i must say the image quality is amazing and i can max all games out at 1680 by 1050

How tight is the fit in the soprano? I assume from what i have heard the GTX wont fit, not that i would go for the GTX anyway. As cards get faster are they going to keep getting bigger or will we see a shrink in the process enabling smaller cooling elements as i dont want to have to buy a new case for a graphics card in a years time or so i have just bought the dam thing.
 
I can take a pic if you want. Tbh it is abit tight but it fits perfectly fine. When i installed the graphics card i had to cut the part of the purple clip on the case to get the card to fit

Yep, it really needs CPU power, and probably doesn't tax your GPU half as much.
