Just wondering but do the ROG motherboards go through the same testing as the TUF motherboards or is the extra price on the ROG purely the name and cosmetic changes ?

ROG products have to be reviewed by ROG committee / team in Taiwan, other products i.e. STRIX / TUF do not.

That's the main difference. TUF taps into the military class line of products that you can see across many manufacturers.

When the X99 TUF came out it was neck and neck with the RVE, so there wasn't much difference in terms of overclocking capability (if any).

Really, just look at the feature set and see which you prefer from that POV.

The TUF, range have been tested in extreme, hot / cold, and do you no that contraption they use in Ikea, to show how they're chairs are tested, Asus, have something very similar, pushing connectors in an out of the port. I came across a video only a few days ago, where they showed their full testing procedure, but can't find it now, I'll keep looking.
