differences between these CPU's?

What are the difference in performance between a :


Athlon 64 standard

Opteron at the same Clock speed

And a Dual Core at the same clock speed

For example the 2.2Ghz in each type?


(not including running 32 different CPU processes)

A64 std vs Single core Opty - If they both have the same amount of cache then there should be no performance difference if at the same clock speed.

A64/opty vs Dual core - In single threaded apps there should be no difference but if the program supports dual core it can be up to twice as fast. Also dual core would run make the system run smoother if you multi-task.

As I guessed, so what is the technical differences between a opty and a athlon 64? (other than cache - as some come with same cache)

On 939, technical differences = nothing, they are the same cores (Venus = San Diego E4, Denmark = Toledo E6).
