Differences between x38 and p45?

I've been out of the mobo loop for some time. I can get an X38 and a P45 for about the same price. But what's the difference and which is better?

X38 has 2 16x PCIe slots so is a bit better for crossfire, most people rate the P45 as one of the best overclockers especially the Asus range.
