Hi, ive been running vista 32 now fine for about 5 months but recently one of my ram sticks failed so i purchased a new set to tide me over until the rma was complete. i also recently changed internet providers from aol to virgin media 4mb and around that time ive started getting bsods from a cold boot. if i disconnct power then restart its usually fine. but when i get the bsods they are different such as:

pfn_list_corrupt

memory_mangement

bad_pool_header

ntfs.sys

im pretty sure its not the ram as its new and ive done a memtest 86 and they were fine.

Im really stumped as after the first 1-2 boots i can use it all day gaming, surfing, emailing, music, films. at this moment im using my seperate harddrive with xp installed, i seem to have no problems with it.
Could anyone shed some light on this PLEASE!!

hi ita a evga 680i a1 revision. i thought it could be the psu but its only about 6 months old. surely i would have problems using xp aswell if it was the psu:(

Its my ram , one of my sticks just failed memtest at 12 minutes with 17000 errors. thats 2 sets of ram killed now. Could it be my motherboard? I get my rma'd g skill back tommorow hope it doent happen again. Now to rma this geil 6400:mad:

I have the same problem.....Keeps locking up on boot up with all different errors...(Mine locks up sometimes even before windows has started loading )

Am also using a EVGA 680i A1 motherboard
(but am using 4Gb of Crucial Ballistix memory..i have tryed using only one 1gb stick in at a time, and still get these startup lockup/errors)

My specs are
EVGA 680i A1
E6600
4Gb of Crucial Ballistix
EVGA 8800GTX
Raptor 150GB
maxtor 300Gb (second drive)
Enermax Infiniti 720watt PSU

have you tryed memtest? do you get a C1 error?

I solved my problem, i noticed that the 2 sticks that i had thought faulty from 2 kits both share the same ram slot. i have a quick look in the slot for debris but couldlnt find anything UNTIL on closer inspection with a penlight i noticed something on one of the inner contacts, really small piece of fluff or something.Out came the compressed air duster, spayed all along the slot put back in "faulty stick" passed 2 runs of memtest staight away and booted first time. that was last night. I haved had any problems or bsod since.
Just means the kit i sent back with g skill must have been not faulty but they did the rma anyway. So now i have a 2gb gskill kit and 2gb geil kit, problem is my 32bit vista wont use it properly so maybe i will have a try with 64 bit soon.

I have to get myself another can of air next week and try cleaning the dust out of my motherboard....
