Different fan speeds on sli cards

Just noticed that on my two gpu's, the fan speed on one card is always a bit higher than the other. Im using auto fan through msi afterburner, (40% at idle), id have thought both would run at the same speed?

Maybe to do with where the cards are positioned in SLI?

Why are u surprised by this setter?
My top 470 runs hotter therefore the fan runs quicker?

Same like everyones SLI setup. (excelt water cooling )...

Yes they should be the same speed. But I would hazard a guess the top card which has less room and space runs slower and bottom runs quicker?

Err the one with the faster fan speed is running cooler than the one with the slower fan speed. And auto fan will not kick in until temps reach 60c or there abouts.

Going by afterburner, assuming that gpu 1 is the topmost card, currently idling at 31c, fan at 1770 rpm, gpu 2 bottom card, currently at 30c, 2100 rpm. I know that in sli the topmost card usually runs a bit hotter, though i do have a 120mm fan behind the cards.

Maybe it's just because the bottom card has more airflow or it just has a better oiled fan.

I can only assume that airflow must be ok as the topmost card is running the slower fan speed, albeit 1c higher, quite used to my previous sli setups having a rather higher temp top card.
