I'm currently looking around at various versions of the 8800GTs 320mb (I'm not too bothered with high resolutions, my monitor isn't massive). In a *certain shop* I've seen the BFG OC 8800GTS for £193. However, I've also seen a gainward 8800GTS for about 15 quid more, but with an extra 160mhz on the memory speed (the BFG one is at the stock 1600mhz speed). Is it particularly worth the extra cash?

It's only worth getting a more expensive brand for the warranty, but then the BFG is cheaper (in your case) and has a better warranty (lifetime).

I'd get the cheapest, but also the best warranty like Melbourne says. The only difference really is the stickers they put on the coolers. Some clock speeds are different and higher, but you can save the £20 or however much it is and do that yourself.

lifetime warranty is great but with new graphics cards every 6 months you'll put that one in a box before the end of it's 2 year warranty :p

yup,
if you acctually pull the sticker off, underneath is the reference green Nvidia jazz. they literaly stick their brands over the top of 'em

It's the OC versions im on about, BFG have OC the GPU and the shader clock speed, while Gainward have overclocked the memory speed as well. I'm not going for a stock 8800gts :p
