I recently bought the Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8GB RAM, and today was running each stick through Memtest86 to check that all was okay with them.
I tested one stick in the first (2nd technically) slot and all was fine. I then tested the other stick and put it into the other slot (4th), so that I could both test the sticks as well as the slots just in case.
All was fine, no errors, but I noticed on the second one that the RAM timings were different than the first. It showed 6-6-6-20, instead of 9-9-9-24 (which is what it's supposed to be and what it showed the first stick running at).
Just put the second stick into the first slot I tested and it is showing 9-9-9-24, so seems like its to do with the slots and not the sticks.
Is this right? Or is something set wrong?
I went into the bios when I first installed them and set the basic timings to 9-9-9-24.
My motherboard is the P8P67.
